Five new OnePlus Experience stores as well as 10 new service centers will be opened in India as part of the launch event of the OnePlus 6 on 17 May 2018.
OnePlus topped the Indian premium smartphone market last year with a 33 percent share, beating Samsung Electronics with 26 percent, according to Counterpoint Research. According to the IDC survey, OnePlus ranked third in India’s market with more than $500 in the first quarter of this year, behind Apple and Samsung Electronics. The company ranked second in the 300-500-dollar market after China’s Vivo.
Through OPlus, Oppo and OnePlus combined their hardware research teams in 2021.
Oxygen OS and Color OS were merged at OnePlus in July 2021. Both companies’ software remained separate, serving their individual regions (Oxygen OS for OnePlus phones worldwide, Color OS for OnePlus and Oppo devices in China) but sharing a common codebase, which OnePlus says will streamline Oxygen OS update development and standardize the software experience.
